“Jammy, bright and a little purple. The light roast that won me over.”

My take

I'm usually a dark-roast guy, and this one still swayed me. It smells sweet, a little orange and a little toasty, and the cup is bright and tangy with a big orange-marmalade note, full body and no bitterness at all. It gets fruitier as it cools. Kuma's roaster called it "purple lemonade," and honestly, I get it.

What stood out

  • Orange marmalade up front, just like the bag says
  • Full body, mellow, zero bitterness
  • Gets fruitier as it cools
  • My pick of Kuma's fruity coffees

Who it’s for

Fruity-coffee lovers, and dark-roast people who want to be talked into a light roast.

How I brew it

Drip, black, through the Terra Kaffe Demi
